Civil /Secular Marriage

When couples inquire about a civil/secular ceremony, they often have different expectations. It’s important to clarify what you’re looking for so I can help create the perfect experience for your special day. Here are the most common requests:

1. If you’re looking for the absolute basics—just signing the paperwork with the required legal wording—My Paperwork Only service is less expensive and less formal than City Hall.

2. For couples who want a short but heartfelt exchange, I offer options that include a brief ceremony with the public declaration of your intent to marry. You can choose to include personal vows and a ring exchange, or keep it minimal. Depending on your guest count, this may fall under:

And, all of my Traditional Wedding Ceremonies are co-customized and each couple can review the material ahead of time. So, if you are looking for language that is more secular or non-religious, you can ensure the ceremony reflects your values. Typically, civil ceremonies are not customized and are less warm. They will ask for your intent and consent by reciting your legal obligations, whereas my ceremonies are based on human connection, respect, and taking care of one another beyond just the legal requirements.
